Viburnum tinus is a dense, evergreen shrub with dark and oval, glossy leaves, which contrast beautifully with fragrant pinkish-white flowers, followed by dark black fruit which attracts the smaller birds, especially finches and robins.It's a popular choice for hedging but may also be grown as a specimen shrub in a mixed border.Soil: moist and well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade in a sheltered position to avoid harsh winter winds to preserve the flower buds.Mulch annually with well-rotted manure or compost and cut back plants to retain their shape in early summer.An attractive plant that also offers wildlife a source of nutrition.Height and spread 2.5m.Sold in a 2 litre pot. -

Leucothoe Scarletta is a magnificent hardy evergreen variety that is the perfect addition for brightening up the front of garden borders or when planted in containers to be displayed on the patio or decking, where the long slender leaves have an almost metallic shimmer in the sun. The vivid red foliage develops to a mild green then transpires into a bronze-red colour during the autumn and winter months, keeping interest and colour within the garden when other plants begin to fade. A great option to suppress weeds, this compact variety will reach a mature height of only 45-60cm. Small white flowers will begin to bloom in March through to May that contrast beautifully with the dense foliage. Fast-growing, dense, bushy, evergreen shrub with large glossy, dark green leaves. It makes an excellent hedging plant, and can cope with deep shade under trees was well as full sun.
