The Kniphofia ‘Popsicle’ Series have been specially bred for a compact, dwarf habit and bright, vibrant flower colours. Our Red Hot Poker 'Popsicle' Collection combines three superb varieties. Their grassy, evergreen foliage forms neat clumps that add texture to the front of herbaceous borders. The bright flower spikes rise above the foliage from June to October. A breakthrough intergeneric hybrid, combining Digitalis, a hardy perennial, with Isoplexis, a tender plant native to the Canary Islands. 'Berry Canary' has a more compact, proportional habit and thus a neater appearance in containers and landscapes. Spikes of hot pink flowers with creamy yellow, burgundy speckled throats are borne all the way around the stems above the rosettes of large, glossy, dark green leaves. Best in full sun, but grows well if shaded for some parts of the day.Needs good garden soils avoid wet areas or grow in patio containers.Removal of spent flowers will encourage re flowering.Flowers are toxic if eaten.Plant care: keep well watered until firmly established, feed with a good liquid fertiliser every two weeks in the flowering season.Sold in a 2 litre pot. -
The Podocarpus is a native to China and Japan. Also know as the Chinese Yew or the Buddhist Pine. It is a slow growing evergreen conifer that is easy to care for. With care this species can be kept indoors. Mist spraying and a cool room are recommended.If cool environments such as shaded porches, conservatories and sun rooms can be provided, they likelihood of success is increased. These may be too hot in summer, when the tree should be moved outside.The tree performs very well outside but does need protection in winter.Image for display purposes only.
