An excellent addition to any woodland or wildlife garden, Pulmonaria Opal thrives in shady spots and makes a good ground cover plant for underneath trees and shrubs.The name Pulmonaria is derived from Latin ‘pulmo’, meaning ‘lung’. For stronger plants, and for brighter blooms, this high potash feed also helps ripen tomatoes, onions and other vegetables. Apply using a watering can or diluter. Hanging baskets, tubs and bedding plants:Start feeding from planting out unless a slow release fertiliser has been added, when feeding should be delayed for 4-5 weeks.As a weekly feed: Add 10g to every 6 litres of clean, cold water. Tomatoes:Mix 5g in 6 litres. Use in place of ordinary watering, after the first flowers have set, and continue feeding during the season.Leeks, Onions, Pumpkins and other Vegetables: Mix 5g in 6 litres and apply the feed to the soil or growing media in place of normal watering from the end of June. Lawns: Mix 60g in 6 litres of water and apply the feed to the 10m2 of lawn using a watering can and fine rose.

An interesting British introduction, this hybrid Foxglove is sterile so it flowers for many weeks, beginning in midsummer. It forms a low rosette of dark green leaves, bearing taller stems that hold spikes of dangling bells. Blooms are an intriguing peachy-yellow tone, marked with maroon-red spots.
