  • Known as the Tatting Fern because the frond pattern resembles lace tatting. Essentially the small pinnae are bead-like, and edge the fronds like a parade of half-moon shaped greenery. This deciduous cultivar is essentially a low grower to 1 foot or occasionally higher. But at whatever height, this fern is always a conversation piece. The new growth is frequently very late in the season, and while it appears to be delicate this plant is hardy and sturdy.Sun or part shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil or potting compost. Plant at same depth as pot and gently firm and surrounding soil. Tubs plants will need watering regularly, especially if dry and windy. Border plants need regular watering until established.
