Devils Ivy is a popular plant in the hardy pothos family. All members of this group have glossy, heart-shaped, leathery leaves but in different colors. Plants have been found to be very efficient in cleaning the air of harmful chemicals. Not only that but Devils Ivy are one of the most low maintenance house plants out there! Great for a beginner looking to bring some green space in or for someone with a busy lifestyle that still wants an impact! Keep in lightly moist soil and water once the top 3cm feel dry. Devils Ivy can survive in low light but looks better and grows faster in medium to bright indirect light. If the light is too low, the yellow swirls on the leaves revert to green on the new growth.

One of the best known and widely used houseplants. This is for a good reason, glossy leaves grow in profusion creating the classic indoor tree. Only need to water when the plant starts to dry out, when the top couple of inches of soil is dry. Allow water to drain freely and never leave sitting in water as this can cause root rot.Keep out of draughts and away from radiators to avoid the 'weeping' and keep the fig. Over winter it will need watering less frequently and keeping away from heating systems. For best results grow Ficus benjamina in a loam-based compost in full light, but not direct sun. From spring to summer feed every two weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser and then sparingly in winter. The sap of fig plants can be irritating to the skin and cause a severe reaction in hypersensitive people and pets.

Charming little spreading plant that looks incredible as a filler in a terrarium or cascading down a pot into the air or across a surface. Small delicate turquoise leaves on a reddish stem that grow quickly in summer and are incredibly easy. It's called the Artillery Plant for a reason; when watered, the stamens of the unremarkable flowers will sometimes burst open and eject pollen into the air like a howitzer.
