  • A useful, long-flowering, semi-evergreen shrub for a mixed border. This abelia has attractive, glossy, deep green leaves which it hangs on to for most of the year. From June, it produces masses of small, fragrant, pink-flushed, trumpet-like flowers on arching branches that go on all summer. As it’s slightly tender, it’s best grown in the shelter of a wall, towards the back of a border.   • Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum' is a lovely Japanese Maple that has elegant deeply lobed, purple foliage throughout the spring and summer. In the autumn, the foliage turns vivid crimson red, creating a wonderful seasonal canvas. Unusually, 'Atropurpureum' will show differences in leaf size and shape from plant to plant.Providing vibrant colour for most of the year, Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum' is a fantastic choice and does best when planted in a sheltered position avoiding heavy, waterlogged soils.   • The new foliage of this striking Japanese maple emerges in spring a vibrant red, and as it ages it deepens in colour, turning rich claret until the autumn when it becomes a brighter shade once again before it falls. In shadier conditions, where the foliage is shaded by the outermost leaves, it may turn greenish, but it will usually retain a mahogany blush. 'Shaina' makes a superb specimen in borders or large containers.Acer palmatum 'Shaina' is a medium sized compact deciduous Acer, with an upright growth habit.   • This beautiful African lily produces rich and brooding colour in mid to late summer when its rounded heads of midnight blue, trumpet shaped flowers erupt from bud.   • This Aloe is one of the hardiest of all aloes. It is a shrubby evergreen succulent with fleshy long pointy leaves which form on a stem one of many on each plant. Flowers form early summer which are yellow raceme type up to 40cm tall. These form near the tip of each stem and flower on mass when the plant matures. As it is from South Africa this aloe makes a great coastal plant.
