A stunning typical eucalyptus, this tree is tall and slender, with almost blue young foliage, turning to grey-green in adulthood. Commonly known as the Tasmanian Cider Tree, this gum is evergreen, and will reach almost a 12m height, in a conical shape. Whilst this tree may look slender and vulnerable, it is a very hardy plant, and will easily survive most winters. This Japanese Spindle or Wintercreeper variety is a small, bushy, evergreen shrub, but will climb if planted against a wall. Its ovate, glossy, variegated leaves have emerald green centres and creamy white margins, becoming tinged with pink in winter. Great for providing winter interest. Great as hedging, or plant in any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas.Sun or part shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil or potting compost. The common form, Euonymus europaeus, is also called the Spindle Bush often found in hedgerows and native woodland.Euonymus Europaeus 'Red Cascade', is a popular deciduous large shrub.
