The leaves can be steamed as ‘greens’Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.Thin seedlings when large enough to handle to 10-15cm (4-6in) apart. For best results turnips should be grown quickly, help to achieve this by watering well at all stages. Harvest when still medium size for the best flavour.
