Known as lemon spinach, ‘Volare’ produces lime green leaves with a refreshing, sharp taste almost like green apple year after year.Direct sow sorrel seed outdoors. Grow sorrel in a well prepared, moist, seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 13mm (½in) in drills 30cm apart. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 15cm (6in) apart. Fortnightly sowings of sorrel will ensure an ongoing supply of young sorrel leaves for adding to salads. Can also be started in modules and planted out. Plants will come back year after year.
