Acer Palmatum Going Green (better known as Japanese Maple) is a small deciduous acer with lobed lime green leaves that emerge in early spring and turn vibrant lime green over the summer months. As with most Japanese Acers its foliage turns fiery shades of orange and red in autumn. Leaves will drop in Winter revealing lime green ornamental colour stems similar to bamboo.Main Features;– Easy to grow- Hardy- Prefers neutral to acid soil (ericaceous)- Likes to be in sheltered, Shady Areas Garden care: Add a top dressing of a multi-purpose fertiliser around the base of the plant in late spring. No routine pruning is required, just remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches in late autumn or winter when they are fully dormant.Water well in hot spells and mulch the roots in spring for the best foliage display and again in autumn to protect its roots against drying out.
